Today’s Spotlight - Kentucky, Point Guard, Rob Dillingham
Name- Rob Dillingham
Pos- Point Guard
Team- Kentucky
HT/WT- 6’2” 175 lbs
Born- 1/4/2005
Home – Hickory, North Carolina
Dillingham was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina. He emerged as one of the top high school basketball players at Combine Academy during his sophomore season. During his sophomore year he averaged 21.2 points per game. He joined Overtime Elite during his senior season and averaged 14.7 points per game.
He was ranked as the #13 overall prospect by 247Sports. He was named the Iverson Classic Crossover Award winner for his performance in the 2023 Iverson Classic.
Dillingham signed with the Kentucky Wildcats over several other offers. In his freshman year at Kentucky he is averaging 15.4 points per game entering the 2024 NCAA tournament.
Dillingham has elite speed and is a creative ball handler. He uses his change of speed to create separation and shots. He has a quick release and has an effective mid-range jump shot. His ball handling skills are exceptional and he does an excellent job of distributing the ball. Though he is not the tallest player, he does an effective job of being able to get a shot off in any situation.
Dillingham is listed as 6'2" by most pundits and he will struggle to use just his speed at the NBA level. He has an unorthodox jumpshot and even though it gets the job done it may scare some teams. His lack of size may create problems for him to drive as effectively to the basket. His size may become an issue against point guards who are bigger and as fast as him.
Jalen Brunson is a 6'2" point guard who, over his career has transformed and found his shot while distributing the ball. In the last two seasons he has taken his game to the highest level, averaging 28.2 points per game with the Knicks this year. It took him several years to get to this point and Draft Nation thinks Dillingham can have a similar development arc.

Final Analysis
Rob Dillingham has proven that he can perform at a high level against the best college players in the country. Although he is a top-10 pick he still has to prove that he can overcome his lack of size and battle against the larger point guards. He has the special ability to score and distribute, which cannot be overlooked.
