The 2024 college football season is right around the corner, so you know what that means? The 2025 NFL draft is coming soon, as well. Draft Nation is here to guide you through the prospects and how they can help NFL teams.
Here is a three pack of players who are looking to get selected in the 2025 NFL draft.
Jaxson Dart is able to throw the ball with excellent velocity and does a solid job of changing his arm angles to get the ball out. He can make all the throws, but wouldn't consider his arm elite.
Dart keeps his eyes downfield once he is moved from the pocket, and is able to anticipate when a receiver will break open. Overall his anticipation is good. He is able to throw the ball before receivers come out of their breaks.
Dart is explosive when he leaves the pocket. He is able to pick up big chunks of yards once he puts the ball away and takes off.
Dart's accuracy on deep balls can be very inconsistent from time to time. He appears to be more comfortable on shorter and intermediate passes where he can put steam behind the ball.
At times he lacks patience and will not go through all of his reads. He will look to run before surveying all his options. When under pressure, Dart's decision making can be questionable at best. He will try to force passes into the tightest of windows, putting a lot of trust in his arm strength, but it does not always work out.
When in the pocket, Dart dances too much and needs to concentrate on his footwork. His footwork has a lot to do with his accuracy issues and this is something he needs to work on.
Player comp: Baker Mayfield
Third-round pick
Drew Allar has a strong football IQ and reads defenses well. He acknowledges blitzes and audibles well out of plays.
He is a pure passer with the build that NFL teams love. His throwing mechanics are pure and he looks the part. The arm strength is there to make all throws in all situations.
Allar has enough athleticism to tuck the ball away and take off. Although he isn't the fleetest of feet, he tends to always gain positive yards once he decides to leave the pocket.
Drew Allar needs to improve his footwork, especially when he is under pressure. At times he throws using nothing but his arm strength. He needs to transfer power better from his lower half to his throwing motion.
His pocket presence can be slow at times and he will take unnecessary sacks due to his slow clock.
He needs to vary his tempo better when throwing. Allar will throw short passes with too much velocity and intermediate throws without enough speed.
He has missed on deep throws where the receiver's were open, this goes back to him working on his footwork when making throws. He has the arm strength to make all throws, but accuracy can be an issue.
Player comp: Carson Wentz
Third-round pick
Pearce has excellent length at 6-foot-5 and uses his hands well when attacking blockers. He is explosive off the snap and has the athletic ability to make game changing type plays.
Gets off the edge smoothly and quickly and pressures the quarterback all game long. When chasing the ball, he is strong at shedding blocks and is able to move side to side effortlessly.
He has a wealth of pass rushing moves, making him a tough one-on-one assignment.
Pearce has a small frame and needs to add bulk and muscle to help transition the move to the NFL.
At times, Pearce can be engulfed by larger blockers and double teams. He is a player who gets by with his upper body strength, but needs to learn to use his lower half's power to succeed at the next level.
His pass rushing skills are at the top of this class, but needs to become a more reliable run stopper to become the complete player that most scouts see in him.
Player comp: Danielle Hunter
1st round pick
