Top Ten 2024 NHL Draft Prospects

At Draft Nation, draft coverage never ends, and now that Connor Bedard is a Chicago Blackhawk, let's take an early look at the top ten NHL draft prospects for 2024.

1- Macklin Celebrini, C, Boston University

Celebrini is not Connor Bedard, and truth be told, nobody is. There is not much Celebrini cannot do, and when he joined the USHL last season with the Chicago Steel, he was instantly the best player in the league. He will be playing as a 17-year old for Boston University next season, and the scouts eyes will be fixed on how this 17 year old performs.

2- Cole Eiserman, LW, USA U18 (NTDP)

Eiserman has one-on-one abilities and a fantastic shot. In just 20 games as a late season call-up for the U18 squad he scored 26 goals. He has a late August birthday and is just 17 days shy from being eligible for the 2025 NHL Draft.

3- Artyom Levshunov, RD, Green Bay Gamblers (USHL)

Levshunov is a highly skilled, mobile defenseman who can make plays from anywhere on the ice. He has the length that the NHL desires and has all the traits you want for a top-pairing defenseman. He needs to use this season to shore up his defensive play.

4- Berkly Catton, C, Spokane-WHL

Catton is a playmaker who plays with a high compete level. He scored 55 points in 63 games and won over 50% of his faceoffs. He also won bronze for Team Canada at the U18 World Championships, scoring 4 points in 7 games.

5- Ivan Demidov, RW, SKA St. Petersburg (MHL)

Demidov is a player with a ton of offensive skill who has been putting up big numbers in Russia’s top junior league. He’s got a smooth offensive touch and unlike many Russian players, he enjoys playing in traffic.

6- Konsta Helenius, RW, Jukurit (Liiga)

Helenius is a versatile winger who can play either wing. He’s on the smaller side at 5'10, but is a pure passer who helps drive the offense. 

7- Sam Dickinson, LHD, London- OHL

At 6’3” Dickinson has a lot of the traits NHL scouts love in defensemen. His defensive ability is ahead of his offense. He only scored 23 points in 62 games last season but he has the ability to be a shut down defender. This is a big season for Dickinson, who should keep his top 10 prospect status. 

8- Henry Mews, RHD, Ottawa 67’s- OHL

Mews is a solid skater who plays a strong 2-way game. He excels at puck battles and is a positionally sound defender with a good shot from the point. He is exceptional without the puck and early reports will make him a highly sought after prospect in 2024.

9- Aron Kiviharju, LD, TPS-Liiga

Kiviharju, though a smaller defensemen (5’10”), is one of the smartest players in the class. He played during his age 15 season in the top U20 junior league in Finland, scoring almost a point a game. Kiviharju is a good transitional puck mover and excels on the power play.

10- Tanner Howe, C/RW, Regina Pats- WHL

Howe had 85 points in 67 games this past season with some help from Connor Bedard. He will need to show at least the same level of production in 2023-2024 to be considered a top 10 prospect.
