Cam Hart played at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in Maryland. He was strictly a wide receiver in high school and did not play defense at all. He was a highly rated receiver during his senior season and was listed as the 32nd best wide receiver nationally. After several division one offers, Hart eventually committed to Notre Dame.
Hart started as a scout team wide receiver for Notre Dame and was moved to defensive back late in his freshman year. He got on the field for 3 games and had 1 sack against New Mexico in his collegiate debut.
In his first full season on the defensive side of the ball, Hart played in 9 games all in a reserve role. His transition from wide receiver to cornerback is almost complete and he is now #2 on the depth chart entering the 2021 season.
He became the full time starter during the 2021 season and started 10 out of 13 games for the Fighting Irish. He was productive in his first year as a starter and picked off 2 passes and totaled 41 tackles. In 2022, he played in 11 games, making 10 starts and was considered a shutdown cornerback during the season. He finished with 21 tackles and 4 passes defended.
This season, Hart started all 12 games for Notre Dame and tallied 21 tackles and led the team with 3 forced fumbles. After a productive 5th season, he announced he was leaving Notre Dame to enter the NFL Draft.
