Sataoa Laumea was a 4-star prospect out of Eisenhower High School in California. He was named the All-CIF Southern Section Division 10 Offensive player of the year in 2018 and was invited to the 2019 Polynesian Bowl. He also starred at defensive tackle in high school, but teams were recruiting him to play tackle, and he committed during his senior season to Utah. Sataoa Laumea only played in 1 game during his true freshman season and took a redshirt. Laumea was named Pac-12 all-conference 2nd team selection after starting 5 games at right guard during the Covid-19 shortened season. In 2021, Laumea started 13 games at right guard and played well enough to be named a Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention. In 2022, he started in all 14 games (1-RG, 13-RT) on an offensive line that only allowed 1.07 sacks per game. He was named a Pac-12 All-Conference first team. This past season, Laumea started 12 games at right tackle for the Utes and was named a Pac-12 All-Conference second team. In 2023, Laumea started all 12 games and was named to the All-Pac 12 Second Team. He was part of a line which allowed one sack or less in 7 of their games on the year.
