Jack Bech attended St. Thomas more high school in Louisiana, where he played wide receiver. As a junior, Bech hauled in 91 receptions for 1,668 yards and 20 touchdowns. As a senior, he caught 69 passes for 1,391 yards and 16 touchdowns and was a member of the St. Thomas More basketball team that captured three straight championships. The four-star recruit closed his high school career with 173 receptions for 3,236 yards and 37 touchdowns in 35 games. Bech originally committed to play football for Vanderbilt before flipping to play for the LSU Tigers.
Bech stepped right in to the LSU lineup and led the team with 43 receptions while ranking third with 489 yards receiving and three touchdowns. He appeared in 13 games with seven starts for the Tigers in his successful freshman season. In 2022, Bech played in 12 games with four starts. His numbers were not nearly as strong as his freshman year, tallying 16 receptions for 200 yards and a touchdown. After the conclusion of the 2022 season, Bech decided to enter his name in the NCAA transfer portal and decided to play for the TCU Horned Frogs.
In his first season at TCU, he was limited to eight games due to an injury but totaled 12 receptions for 146 yards and recorded at least one reception in each game that he played. Bech had a huge 2024 season for the Horned Frogs playing all 12 games and set career highs in receptions (62), yards (1,034) and touchdowns (9).
