The 2025 NFL Draft is exactly five weeks away, with teams in the AFC East looking to bolster their rosters with top-tier talent. Draft Nation takes a look at potential first-round picks for the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and New York Jets.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have consistently been a playoff contender, but they could use reinforcements on the defensive line. The front office has addressed the position in the early round of free agency, but bringing in a first-round talent to fill this need may be one way the Bills address the position long-term.
Jalon Walker, Edge, Georgia
One intriguing prospect is Jalon Walker, an edge rusher from Georgia. Walker's athleticism and explosiveness make him a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, and he could provide the Bills with the pass-rushing presence they've been seeking. The Bills will likely need to move up to secure the services of Walker, but they are too close to the Super Bowl not to mortgage some current draft capital to grab a talent like Walker.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins need to address their secondary. With the loss of several in the defensive backfield to free agency the Fins need to fill holes to compete against the pass-happy Bills.
Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State
Denzel Burke, a cornerback from Ohio State, could be a perfect fit. Burke's length and coverage skills make him a standout prospect, and he could step in to solidify Miami's defensive backfield. With the AFC East becoming increasingly competitive, a strong secondary will be crucial for the Dolphins to keep pace.
New England Patriots
The Patriots are in a rebuilding phase and could look to strengthen their offensive line. Newly-minted head coach Mike Vrabel is returning to his longtime team to bring them back to prominence and their rookie sensation quarterback Drake Maye needs an improved line in front of him.
Will Campbell, OT, LSU
Enter Will Campbell, an offensive tackle from LSU. Campbell's combination of size, strength, and agility makes him an ideal candidate to protect the quarterback and open up running lanes. Campbell may be the best tackle in this draft and can bump inside to guard if necessary. It’s the obvious choice and if the Patriots don’t trade back, Campbell should come off the board here.
New York Jets
The Jets have undergone significant changes, including a new quarterback in Justin Fields. Parting ways with future Hall of Famer Davante Adams in free agency, the Jets can secure an x-receiver to perfectly compliment rising star Garrett Wilson.
Tetairoa McMillan, WE, Arizona
McMillan's ability to stretch the field and make contested catches would complement Wilson and give Fields a reliable target. Alternatively, the Jets could address their offensive line to ensure Fields has the protection he needs to succeed.
