Each week during the 2024 college football season Draft Nation will take a look at six players who helped their draft stock with solid performances. As the season progresses, Draft Nation will start to zoom in on first round talent.
Here is the six pack from this past week:
Penn State- Tight End, Tyler Warren
Penn State received another big game from their redshirt senior tight end Tyler Warren this past Saturday. In the Nittany Lions 49-10 win over Purdue, Warren had 8 receptions for 127 yards and one touchdown, and also carried the ball three times for 63 yards and another score.
Warren is flying up the draft boards and his combination of speed and versatility should have him going as high as round one in many mock drafts. On the season, Warren has 67 receptions for 808 yards and five touchdowns. He has also ran the ball 16 times for 157 yards and four touchdowns. The ex-high school quarterback has shown he can do it all, even completing two passes in four attempts for 26 yards and one touchdown.
Warren runs excellent routes and uses his strong hands to snare the ball. He can line up all over the offense and has enough burst to carry the ball in tight end sweeps. What makes Warren even more dangerous is that he can line up as a quarterback forcing teams to respect him as a runner or passer. He has made progress on his blocking in 2024 and could be the first tight end to come off the board in 2025.
Clemson- Wide Receiver, Antonio Williams
Draft Nation had the pleasure of being at Acrisure Stadium this past Saturday to watch Clemson beat the Pitt Panthers 24-20. One thing was for certain, Tigers redshirt sophomore wide receiver Antonio Williams was a game changing weapon. Williams continually beat the Panthers secondary running a skinny post and using his electric speed to gain separation. He finished his best game as a collegiate receiver with 13 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns.
On the year, Williams has 53 receptions for 617 yards and eight touchdowns. He has also ran the ball another seven times for 101 yards and scored once. He had a stellar freshman season in 2022 hauling in 56 passes for 604 yards and four touchdowns but was injured after four games in his sophomore season and took a medical redshirt.
Williams projects as an NFL slot receiver who runs excellent routes with soft hands. Look for him to add value to his draft stock with his return ability but he will need to get stronger to be able to beat the bigger and faster NFL cornerbacks off the line of scrimmage.
Draft Nation believes it is in Williams’ best interest to play one more year of college football and enter the 2026 draft.
Notre Dame- Running Back, Jeremiyah Love
In Notre Dame’s 35-14 victory over Virginia on Saturday, Notre Dame sophomore running back Jeremiyah Love ran for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 carries. Love is another underclassman worth taking a closer look at with his elite speed and big play ability. The 6-foot-0 and 206-pound running back is excellent out of the backfield as a pass catcher and he is an ankle breaker in the open field with his speed and cutting ability. On the season, Love has 720 yards on 114 attempts and has scored 13 total touchdowns.
With two years of eligibility remaining, Love will have some decisions to make at the end of the 2025 campaign. The Fighting Irish running back is going to be one of the best running backs heading into next year and he will be a player all draftniks need to pay attention to.
Arizona State- Wide Receiver, Jordyn Tyson
Arizona State improved to 8-2 with a 24-14 victory over Kansas State. The Sun Devils offense was led by redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jordyn Tyson who hauled in 12 passes for 176 yards and two touchdowns. The transfer from Colorado has continually gotten better during his college career and this season has already hauled in 58 receptions for 833 yards and nine touchdowns.
Tyson has explosive athleticism and elite jumping ability, but he's still raw and just starting to stamp his footprint in the draft process. Although he is not on the radar as of now with two years of eligibility left, the 6-foot-1 receiver is worth keeping an eye on as he continues to mature as a wide receiver and route runner.
Oregon- Defensive End, Matayo Uiagalelei
No. 1 Oregon struggled but held on to beat Wisconsin 16-13 this past weekend. Oregon's sophomore defensive end Matayo Uiagalelei sealed the victory by picking off a Braedyn Locke late in the game. The 6-foot-5 defensive end finished the game with four tackles, one sack and the game saving interception. On the season, Uiagalelei has collected 31 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception.
Uiagalelei projects as a future starting edge rusher in the NFL. He is strong and has the versatility to line up all over the defensive front. At 6-foot-5 and 270-pounds he uses his length well to be able to beat offensive lineman right off the snap.
If Uiagalelei keeps up his current ascension he could find himself in round one of the 2026 NFL draft.
Texas- Safety, Jahdae Barron
The Texas Longhorns held on to beat Arkansas this past weekend 20-10. The game was a defensive battle throughout and Texas was led by fifth-year senior Jahdae Barron. Barron made several big plays at pivotal times to help Texas avoid the upset and finished the game with six tackles, one sack and one interception. On the season, he's been the leader of the Longhorns secondary, collecting 38 tackles, one sack and four interceptions.
Barron is versatile and plays with a high motor. His combination of physicality and instincts help him to make plays all over the field. He has played safety, nickelback and some linebacker since coming to Texas, and understands the roles of each. He can sell out for a big hit and needs to become a better technical tackler in wrapping up ball carriers before getting to the NFL, but has the skillset to be a second day pick in the 2025 NFL draft.
Bonus—Ashton Jeanty
This past Saturday, Jeanty ran for 159 yards on 32 attempts and three touchdowns. In ten games, Jeanty has already ran for 1,893 yards and 26 touchdowns, he has fallen behind the pace to break Barry Sanders’ record of 2,628 yards.
