The 2024 college football season is right around the corner, so you know what that means? The 2025 NFL draft is coming soon, as well. Draft Nation is here to guide you through the prospects and how they can help NFL teams.
Here is a three pack of wide receivers who are looking to get selected in the 2025 NFL draft.
Restrepo has a sudden burst off the line of scrimmage and is a handful to cover on quick slants. His footwork is exceptional when battling one-on-one and his agility and lateral movement create space for him. Restrepo is an excellent route runner that can stop on a dime and has plenty of "stop and go" moves to keep defensive backs guessing. His has strong hands and does a good job of catching the ball out in front of his body. When finding the ball, Restepo possesses a high level of body control, making hard catches look easy. He's a strong runner with the vision and cutting ability to pick up extra yards
Restrepo is on the smaller side and projects as only a slot receiver at the next level. Although he has an explosive first step, he does not have the elite speed of other slot receivers coming out in this class. He will have his struggles getting off the line against bigger and more physical defensive backs that like to bump and run in press coverage. Although he is a willing blocker, he has issues sustaining blocks in the run game and may project as a third or fourth receiver that plays in passing downs only.
Player comp: Sterling Shepard
3rd round pick
Tai Felton is a fiery competitor who wants to beat his opponent on every play. He fights for contested balls and has effective body control. He runs precise routes and gains separation coming out of a break. After the catch, Felton is very shifty and tough to bring down. He excels at changing up his tempo on routes and at 6-foot-2, has quick footwork and is able to change speed and direction on a dime for a larger wide out. Felton has reliable hands and uses his length to high-point the balls thrown his way.
On the downside, Felton needs to add strength and mass to his 186-pound frame. He is not blessed with the top-end speed of some NFL players and will not threaten to take the top off of defenses. Felton is not yet effective in the run blocking game and will need to work on technique. He is very strong against man-to-man, but struggles to know where to set up in zone coverage. He will need to improve at this, finding the soft spots in the defense.
Player comp: Tyler Boyd
3rd or 4th round pick
Isaiah Bond has elite speed and will be able to take the top of off most defenses. He uses his tracking skills to explode off the ball and reaches top speed earlier than most prospects. Bond is very fluid in his movements and is a nightmare to have to cover and mirror. Not only is Bond a speedster he does a great job of contorting his body to make catches, which helps to expand his catch radius.
Bond is able to line up outside or inside and is physical enough to make plays over the middle. His versatility should help offensive coordinators to take advantage of mismatches. He understands zone coverages and does a solid job of being able to shut it down and find the soft spots in the defense.
Bond is on the smaller side and can be slowed down by press coverage and by the more physical cornerbacks. Getting stronger and adding some weight are two necessities for him before he gets to the NFL. He does not run the best routes and gets away with just using his speed to gain separation at this level, butthis will not be so easy against bigger and faster NFL corners.
He struggles hauling in contested catches and has been prone to focus drops. Getting stronger and adding weight should help him with the contested passes.
Bond is a willing run blocker but is not very successful at getting himself set up to make a good solid block. He uses poor angles to set up a block and maintain it.
Player comp: DeVonta Smith
