The 2024 college basketball season has started and is in full swing, so you know what that means? The 2025 NBA draft is coming soon, as well. Draft Nation is here to guide you through the prospects and how they can help NBA teams.
Here is a pair of draft eligible players who are looking to get selected in the 2025 NBA draft.
PG/SG- Boogie Fland, Arkansas
6-foot-2 175 lbs
2024 stats: 10 games- 15.5 ppg, 3.5 rbg, 5.4 apg
Johnuel "Boogie" Fland attended Archbishop Stepinac High School in the Bronx of New York, and helped lead the basketball team to the Catholic High School Athletic Association Intersectional Final in his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Stepinac lost the 2022 final but won back-to-back in 2023 and 2024 with Fland announced as the Finals MVP in both games. As a sophomore, Fland was one of the first two New York City high school basketball players to receive NIL deals, along with his friend Ian Jackson and in conjunction with Accelerate Sports Ventures, he developed a clothing line while also promoting the NIL merchandise platform Spreadshop.
As a senior, Fland averaged 19.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.4 steals per game while leading the Crusaders to a 26-4 record. Fland fielded more than 30 recruiting offers from NCAA Division 1 basketball programs. He originally committed to the University of Kentucky but de-committed and followed Coach Caliparii to Arkansas.
What to like about Boogie Fland
Boogie Fland is an explosive guard who has creative ability to score on all three-levels. He explodes off the dribble and uses a crossover to keep opponents off balance. Fland uses his dribbling skills effectively to create shots and to open up the offense for his teammates. He's a high-energy player with excellent vision and is able to see the whole court.
He is a disruptive defender who is always moving and plays in the face of his opponents. Fland has a knack for disrupting passing lanes and is laterally quick on his feet, making him a tough defender on and off the dribble.
Reason for concern
On the downside, Fland is undersized and lacks the frame to match up with the NBA's larger guards. Although Fland can create and score from multiple spots, his shot selection can definitely raise some eyebrows. Teams will want to see how he performs in a team-oriented offensive set. In high school, Fland took it upon himself to take games over and at times took ill-advised shots. He will need to learn how to use his teammates more.
Three point shooting has been hit or miss for Fland in his career. When he is on, he is as hot as any shooter, but when he is not connecting it can affect his overall game.
Player Comparison
Cole Anthony
Cole Anthony is a reasonable comparison for Boogie Fland. Anthony plays a relentless defensive style bet as a prospect he had question marks over his shot selection when he was drafted No. 15 in the 2020 NBA draft. Anthony has settled in as a complimentary role player that adds a spark on the defensive side of the ball. Fland should be selected right around the same range and has a higher ceiling on the offensive side of the ball than Anthony.

SG Egor Demin, BYU
6-foot-9 190 lbs
2024 stats: 8 games- 13.3 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 5.8 apg
Egor Demin was born and grew up in Moscow, Russia, where he attended the Moscow Basketball Academy, where he trained until 2021. He received offers to play with other teams, including BC Khimki, but opted to stay at the academy until age 15 to be with his coach, Evgeny Gorbunov.
Demin sent highlight footage to European teams and had received six offers by 2021. He was considered a top Russian prospect and signed a six-year contract with Real Madrid in September 2021. Playing for the cadet "A" team in the Real Madrid academy, he helped them win the Spanish Cadet Championship in 2022 while averaging 17.3 points and 4.3 rebounds in the tournament. For the following two seasons, he was a member of the junior "A" team and the Real Madrid "B" team in the Liga EBA.
Following the 2023-2024 season, Demin opted to move to the U.S. to play college basketball. He committed to play for the BYU Cougars, where he was the program's first five-star recruit.
What to like about Egor Demin
Egor Demin is a pure shooter who has a smooth stroke. Demin's mid-range game is one of the top in this class, and he has worked to improve his long range shooting as well. He does an effective job of coming off of screens and hitting jump shots. He understands spacing and does and efficient job of utilizing open spots on the court. Demin uses both hands well and is not a player who always dribbles to the same side. Demin can create fouls with his pump fakes and is an exceptional foul shooter.
Reason for concern
Out of all of the top prospects coming out, Demin is not as explosive or athletic but gets by with his exceptional shooting ability. His lack of explosiveness holds him back from being able to drive to the rim consistently. When handling the ball he can get loose at times and against good defenders he can cause more turnovers than you'd like to see. Demin has the size but not the footwork and quickness to be a defensive force. The faster and more athletic NBA shooting guards should be able to drive on the Russian youngster.
Player Comparison
Deni Avdija
Deni Avdija was selected 9th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards, and was scouted the same way that many are looking at Egor Demin. A lights out shooter who was not the most athletic prospect in his class. Now a Portland Trail Blazer, Avdija has averaged 9.8 points a game in his four plus NBA seasons. Draft Nation believes that Demin has more upside and should average around 14-15 points per game.
