Cody Schrader attended Lutheran South High School and holds 17 school records including total yards, touchdowns and rushing yards. He was proficient on both sides of the ball and was a 4 time All-Conference selection at both running back and linebacker. He holds the records for most tackles in a season and in a career for Lutheran South High. Despite all his success in high school, Schrader did not receive Division One offers and instead committed to Truman State.
Schrader redshirted in 2018 while earning academic All-GLVC accolades. In 2019, he played in all 12 games and carried the ball 96 times for 605 yards
After a canceled Covid 2020 season, Schrader had an incredible campaign in 2021, rushing the ball 300 times for 2,074 yards and 24 touchdowns. He was named the 2021 GLVC co-Offensive Player of the Year and transferred to Missouri, walking onto the Football team.
Schrader made the most of his situation, and led the team in rushing yards with 746 and 9 touchdowns and was given a scholarship after the season by Missouri. This season, Schrader stormed onto the scene and is a big reason for Missouri’s 10-2 season. He is 2nd in the nation in rushing yards with 1,489 and has scored 13 touchdowns for the Tigers. He averaged 6.0 yards a carry and also has been a part of the passing game with 22 receptions.
This season, Schrader was the leader of the backfield once again and had a season nobody expected to see. He rushed for 1,627 yards with 14 touchdowns averaging almost 6 yards per carry. He also had 22 receptions for 191 yards out of the backfield and was the offensive leader Missouri needed. He led the team to a 11-2 record and a top 10 finish in the polls.
