Jared Wiley had a unique football career for Temple High School in Texas. He was all-district early on as a punter and as a junior was named first team all-district as well. He took over at quarterback as a senior and was named co-Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,314 yards and 27 touchdowns. Rivals ranked him as the No. 31 tight end nationally and schools lined up their offers, a lot to do with his versatility and athleticism. Wiley decided to stay close to home and committed to the University of Texas.
In his first year at Texas, he played in 12 games with 2 starts and had 1 reception for 15 yards. Wiley saw his playing time expand in his sophomore year, playing in all 9 games and hauling in 9 receptions for 166 yards and 1 touchdown. In 2021, he played in 11 games, starting 9 and finished the year with 9 receptions for 67 yards and 2 touchdowns. After the 2021 season, Wiley entered the transfer portal and quickly decided to join TCU for the 2022 season.
Last season, Wiley was a huge part of the Horned Frogs' offense and set career highs in receptions (24), yards (245) and touchdowns (4). This season, Wiley is on pace to put up his best numbers and is a main cog in TCU’s offense. Through 8 games, he has 22 catches for 174 yards and 4 touchdowns.
In 2023, Jared Wiley doubled all his career highs for the Horned Frogs. He caught 47 passes for 520 yards and 8 touch downs. His production did not go unnoticed and got him on every GM's radar.
