Aireontae Ersery played football at Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri. He only started playing football in his junior season and played both offensive tackle and defensive end. Ersery also competed in track and field in the shot put, discus and javelin. Coming out of high school he was a consensus three-star recruit and raked as the No. 71 offensive tackle in the country. Ersery committed to the University of Minnesota.
In 2020, he played one game, starting against Nebraska at right tackle.He redshirted in 2021 after only seeing action in one game. In his redshirt sophomore season, Ersery started all 13 games at left tackle and was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention.
In 2023, Ersery once again started every game at left tackle and was one of the best tackles in the country. He was named AP First Team All-Big Ten and had a chance to enter the 2024 NFL draft but decided to come back for a fifth year.
