Azareye'h Thomas attended Niceville High School in Florida, where he played running back and safety. As a senior, he helped lead Niceville to the second round of the 2021 FHSAA 7A state playoffs and rushed for 421 yards and caught 33 passes for 438 yards scoring 17 total touchdowns. On defense, he added two interceptions. Thomas was a consensus four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 5 athlete nationally. He held offers from Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU , and Oklahoma but decided to commit to play college football for the Florida State Seminoles.
As a true freshman in 2022, he appeared in 11 games and recorded 14 tackles, including two for a loss, one interception and one pass breakup.Thomas saw the field more consistently as a sophomore appearing in all 14 games with one start and registered 29 tackles, including 4.5 for loss with 0.5 sack, 10 pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was tied for fourth in the ACC in pass breakups and was a big contributor in Florida State's ACC Championship Game victory over Louisville.
In 2024, the junior started all 12 games and totaled 52 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one interception and four pass breakups.
