Jabbar Muhammad attended DeSoto High School in Texas, where he played football and was three-year letterman. During his senior season, he helped lead the Eagles to a 9-3 record, collecting 34 tackles and one interception. Muhammad also ran as a sprinter on the DeSoto track and field team. He was rated a three-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Spots and the No. 57 cornerback in the 2020 class. After sifting through several offers, Muhammad committed to Oklahoma State.
Muhammad played sparingly in his freshman season, appearing in just five games and collecting one tackle. The Oklahoma State cornerback saw the field much more in 2021, playing in all 14 games while making his first start of his career in the Fiesta Bowl. He finished the year with 23 tackles, three passes defended, and half a sack. In 2022, Muhammad became the full-time starting cornerback for the Cowboys. He started all 12 games and set a career high with 48 tackles, to go along with one interception, a forced fumble, and nine pass breakups. After the season the redshirt sophomore decided to enter the transfer portal and elected to move onto the University of Washington.
Muhammad was a dominant force in his first season as a Husky. He was named an All-Pac-12 first team, after starting all 15 games and totaling 46 tackles, three interceptions, five tackles for a loss, two sacks, and 19 passes defended. After the 2023 season, Muhammad once again elected to enter the transfer portal, this time heading to Oregon.
