Jo'Quavious "Woody" Marks attended Carver High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Marks was a star running back who ran for 6,391 yards and 59 touchdowns. As a senior, he ran for 1,519 yards and 23 touchdowns, and was named Region 6-5A Offensive Player of the Year.
Marks, a four-star recruit, was touted as the No. 138 player in the nation by 247Sports and No. 153 by ESPN. With several scholarship offers, Marks committed to Mississippi State.
As a true freshman in 2020, he recorded 70 carries for 312 yards and three touchdowns, while appearing in all 11 games with eight starts. The sophomore running back played 13 games with eight starts in 2021 running for 416 yards and six touchdowns while catching 83 catches for 502 yards with three more scores. As a junior in 2022, he led Mississippi State with 113 rushing attempts for 582 yards and nine touchdowns. He also collected 48 receptions for 288 yards while appearing in 12 games with seven starts. Marks started all nine games he played in during the 2023 season and ran for 573 yards with four touchdowns. Once again he showed his versatility out of the backfield with 23 receptions for 167 yards and two touchdowns.
After the 2023 season, Marks entered the transfer portal and transferred to USC. Marks started right away and set a career high with 1,133 rushing yards in 12 games with nine touchdowns. He also hauled in 47 receptions for 321 yards for the Trojans.
