Kelvin Banks Jr attended Summer Creek High School in Texas and was a four-time all-district honoree. He was selected to play in the 2022 Under Armour All-America Game and was ranked as the No. 6 player nationally, No. 1 among offensive tackles and No. 1 in the state of Texas. Banks had several Division One scholarship offers and committed to the University of Texas.
Banks Jr. stepped right into the starting lineup and had one of the best seasons by any freshman offensive lineman in the country. He started all 13 games at left tackle and was named a FWAA Freshman All-American and a second-team All-Big 12 selection. Banks added to his resume during his sophomore season, starting 14 games at left tackle and being named a second-team All-American and first-team All-Big 12.
