Quincy Riley attended A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, South Carolina, where he lettered in football, basketball and track. He was a three-star recruit by 247Sports and the No 16 recruit in South Carolina. In 2018, he led A.C. Flora with five interceptions to go with 28 tackles. Riley also hauled in 19 passes for 303 yards and four touchdowns to go with six special team scores. After the season, he was named Region IV-4A Special Teams Player of the Year. Riley committed to Middle Tennessee during his senior year of high school.
In the 2019 season, Riley recorded three tackles in three games for the Blue Raiders. In 2020 as a redshirt freshman, Riley played in six games while starting five. On the year, he collected 14 tackles and two interceptions. In 2021, Riley was named First Team All-Conference USA after compling 33 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, nine pass deflections, five interceptions, and a touchdown. At the end of the 2021 season, Riley decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal and signed with Louisville.
In his first year at Louisville, Riley played as part of a rotation in 13 games and tallied 27 tackles, one sack and three interceptions, with one returned for a touchdown. In 2023, Riley started all 13 games, recording 45 tackles, two interceptions, and eight pass breakups. After the season, Riley elected to come back to Louisville for his last season of eligibility.
