Simeon Barrow Jr. attended Grovetown High School in Georgia and during his senior season the defensive end collected 63 tackles, eight sacks and 20 quarterback hurries. He was named Region 3-6 Player of the Year and was ranked as one of the top weakside defensive ends in the nation by Rivals (No. 43) and the fourth-best defensive end prospect in Georgia. The three-star prospect committed to Michigan State University.
Barrow played in 10 games as a true freshman in 2021 and collected 34 tackles, four tackles for a loss and three sacks for the Spartans. In 2022, he played in all 12 games with 10 starts at defensive tackle. He was named honorable mention All-Big 10 after registering 40 tackles, nine tackles for a loss and four sacks. Barrow was once again named an honorable mention All-Big 10 player in 2023 after collecting 36 tackles, six tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks in 12 starts and at the end of the 2023 campaign, Barrow entered the transfer portal and transferred to the University of Miami.
In his first season for the Hurricanes, Barrow started 12 games and collected 28 tackles, eight tackles for a loss and 5.5 sacks.
