Edefuan Ulofoshio played one season at South High School in his hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. After his freshman season, he transferred to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, NV. As a sophomore and junior, he helped lead the Gaels to undefeated seasons, which led to them being named the no. 1 team in the USA Today’s final rankings both seasons. As a senior, he notched 100 tackles, 4 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions. He was named to the Las Vegas Review Journal all-state second team after his senior season. During his senior year, Ulofoshio committed to Washington University.
As a freshman, he played in 3 games, preserving a redshirt for himself. He only played special teams in those 3 games, but somehow managed to make 2 tackles and forced 2 fumbles. Ulofoshio had a huge spring and saw his playing time expand in 2019. He played in 13 games, starting the final 3 for the Huskies. Once again, he made the most of his time on the field, collecting 47 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 3 sacks, and 1 forced fumble.
His 2020 season was cut to 4 games due to Covid-19, but Ulofoshio dominated and was named honorable All-American from Pro Football Focus and by Phil Steele. In just 4 games, he finished with 47 tackles, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 forced fumble, and 1 sack.
In 2021, he played in the first 6 games, starting 5 and then missed the rest due to injury. He was a tackling machine during his playing time, tallying 51 tackles. The injury also cost him the first 8 games of 2022, and he was limited again to just 5 games. He returned slowly and played a limited role for the Huskies and finished with just 10 tackles.
The 2023 campaign was a comeback season of sorts for Ulofoshio. He started all 15 games and finished 2nd on the team in tackles with 94 and added 3 sacks. His play did not go unnoticed and he was a All-Pac-12 First Team selection and was selected as a Phil Steele 2nd Team All-American.
A good comparison to Ulofoshio is Elandon Roberts of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Roberts, a 6th round pick out of Houston in 2016 is and always has been a tackling machine. Though a very good tackler he is not great in coverage but has had a nice career playing the inside linebacker position. Ulofoshio projects as the same kind of player.
