Myles Cole attended Evangel Christian Academy in his hometown of Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a multi-sport athlete who played football, soccer, basketball and track and field. Rivals had Cole rated as a 2-star prospect during his senior season. As a senior, he recorded 48 tackles and 5 sacks. He was named first team All-District during his junior and senior years, and eventually committed to Louisiana-Monroe.
During his 2018 true freshman season, Cole took a redshirt after playing in only 2 games. As a redshirt freshman in 2019, he played in all 12 games for the Warhawks, mostly on special teams, and finished the season with 3 tackles. In 2020, he appeared in 8 games, including 6 starts at defensive end, finishing the season with 10 tackles and 1 sack. He got better as the season went on and started to produce a dependable pass rush over the last couple of games. He played in 12 games, starting 6 in 2021, and tallied 28 tackles, 1.5 tackles for a loss and 0.5 sacks.
After the end of the 2021 season, Cole entered the transfer portal and committed to play football at Texas Tech.He was a key member of the Texas Tech defense front, rotating between the defensive line and outside linebacker room. He appeared in 13 games, making 1 start. He totaled 12 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss and a blocked kick in 2022.
Cole started all 12 games for the Red Raiders in 2023 at defensive end. He set career highs in every category and seemed to put it all together in the second half of the season. He collected 32 tackles, 6.5 TFL, and 3.5 sacks.
