Donovan Ezeiruaku grew up in Willamstown, New Jersey and attended Williamstown High School. He was a three-star recruit who graded as the No. 16 player in New Jersey by Rivals. As a senior, he was the captain of the football team and collected 47 tackles and two sacks before he committed to play at Boston College over schools such as Northern Illinois, Temple and Vanderbilt.
During his freshman season, he played in 10 games off the bench and totaled 21 tackles, four tackles for a loss and three sacks.
As a sophomore, he was named All-ACC Second Team after playing in all 12 games and collecting 61 tackles, leading the team in sacks (8.5), TFLs (14.5), and forced fumbles (3).
Although he started all 13 games as junior, his stats took a slight hit. He finished the season with 53 tackles, 6.5 TFL, two sacks, two forced fumbles and seven quarterback hurries.
