Karene Reid

Karene Reid attended Timpview High School in American Fork, Utah, and played on the football team. In his high school career, Reid racked up 185 tackles, 26 tackles for a loss, 5.5 sacks and two interceptions. Reid was a three-star recruit who initially committed to Utah State, but later decided to walk on at the University of Utah. In Reid's first career game in 2021, he tallied 15 tackles, a sack, and an interception, helping the Utes beat Washington State. He ended his freshman season with 45 tackles, one sack and one interception in 10 games. Reid had a breakout season in 2022, collecting 72 tackles, five sacks, one interception and one forced fumble. He was named a second-team all Pac-12 selection after the season. Entering the 2023 season, Reid was named preseason first-team all Pac-12. Reid's numbers were solid again, however, he did not record a sack in his junior season. In 11 starts, he registered 67 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one interception and one touchdown.
