Keys attended Harborfields High School in New York. He hit .400 over his career, with 9 home runs and 2 All-League and All-County Selections. He was ranked the 22nd best overall prospect and the number 1 third baseman in the state of New York. He chose to join Bucknell following his high school career.
As a freshman, Keys played 17 games, starting 17 of them at either third base or DH. He slashed .207/.294/.414 (average, on base %, slugging), driving in 6 RBI with 3 doubles and a home run in 29 at bats.
Keys earned a starting role as a sophomore last season, starting all 47 games he played for Bucknell. He took an impressive step forward and slashed .339/.444/.679 while driving in 61 RBI. He hit 16 doubles and 13 home runs and struck out just 30 times. He earned First Team All-Patriot League honors for this performance.
This year is Keys' junior season with Bucknell and he is the centerpiece of their offense. Expectations are high for him to follow up his sophomore season, and if he has a similar or even better effort in 2024 he could be a top pick on day 2.
