Tommy White grew up in St. Pete Beach, Florida, and attended Calvary Christian High School. As a junior, he batted .444 with 18 RBIs and four home runs in 11 games before the season was cut short due to COVID. Prior to his senior year, he transferred to IMG Academy, where he batted .378 as a senior and was named an All-American. He chose to join NC State following his high school career.
As a freshman with the Wolfpack, White burst onto the scene with an amazing offensive season. He slashed .362/.425/.757 (average, on base %, slugging) with 27 home runs, 12 doubles, and 74 RBI. He earned Freshman All-ACC and First Team All-ACC Selections, as well as being named ACC Freshman of the Year.
Following his freshman season, White decided to transfer to LSU. As a sophomore for the Tigers, White went .374/.432/.725, hitting 24 more home runs, 24 doubles, and an impressive 105 RBI on the year. This earned him First Team All-SEC Honors, and First Team All-American Selections from Baseball America, Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA.
This season is White's junior year, and he will look to add to his mammoth offensive numbers and keep climbing draft boards.
