Davin Vann attended Cary High School in North Carolina and was a four-year varsity lettermen. In his four-year career he totaled 235 tackles, 59 tackles for a loss, and 31 sacks. During his junior year of high school he also won a 4A state title at heavyweight in wrestling and finished second at the state championships in the shot put. He recorded the third-longest throw in the U.S. as a junior as well. Vann was rated a four-star prospect and No. 12 recruit in the state of North Carolina and decided to stay close to home, committing to North Carolina State.
In 2020, the talented young d-lineman saw action in five games and recorded two tackles. In 2021, Vann saw the field a lot more, playing in 12 games and collecting 26 tackles, five tackles for a loss, and four sacks. In 2022, Vann started all 13 games at defensive end and finished the season with 33 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks. Vann once again started every game at defensive end and finished second on the team with six sacks.
