Jared Ivey attended North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, Georgia. During his high school career he had 153 tackles and 29 sacks, with 20 of the sacks coming during his senior season. The four-star prospect committed to Georgia Tech during his senior season.
As a true freshman in 2020, Ivey played nine games, with two starts and collected eight tackles for the Yellow Jackets. Ivey became the full-time starter in 2021 and started 11 games on the edge and tallied 32 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
At the completion of his sophomore season, Ivey entered the transfer portal and transferred to Ole Miss.
In his first season with the Rebels, he played in 13 games, making seven starts on the defensive line. He finished the season with 37 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries, and a forced fumble.
2023 was a break through season for Jared Ivey. He was named All-SEC First-Team after playing in 13 games, while making 12 starts. He set career highs in tackles (46), tackles for loss (11.5), and sacks (5.5) Ivey capped the year off by being named the Peach Bowl Defensive MVP against Penn State.
